European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR)
With EUTR having come into force on the 3rd March 2013 we take this
opportunity to advise all our customers of what this means in practical
and commercial terms:
Prohibits the placing of illegally harvested timber or timber
products in any form into the European Union.
Requires operators/traders to instigate a Due Diligence System (DDS)
to monitor and mitigate risk for first placement of timber or timber
products in the European market.
Requires traceability of timber or timber products to country and or
forest of origin.
Since 2008 we have
had in place a strict policy of purchasing responsibly and only
Certified products where that has been possible.
Latterly as members
of The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) and the introduction of EUTR
our RPP has now been successfully audited by the TTF and found to be
